As for the last seven days, well there are a few bits and bobs which may be worth sharing,.....To begin with since your last visit, developments with that whole situation concerning a girl on my course, whom I'm calling G (it's a very unimaginative moniker, Gertrude? Geraldine? Ginny?) have come think and fast! Over the weekend I received no less than 3 calls from my new BFF not including the 3 missed calls I got on Sunday because I dared to leave my phone switched off till midday. Oh, and what was so urgently necessary for G to call me on the day of rest? Her 4th call revealed that she had acquired a strange swelling on her finger!
as Big Sean would say Hold up, hol' up, woah there!
What has this got to do with me!?!? I thought. The answer is NOTHING, however I was very sympathetic, asking the right questions and giving the right advice, all of which she knew already! (I mean if you're already going to go the doctor on monday, WHY call me?) The conversation we proceeded to have was about 8 minuted too long...because it lasted 8 minutes! Maybe I missed a step from when I first said "Hello" to G to us being the BESTEST of Friends. Honestly that's how it feels, within the space of a few days. Aahhh, but for those of you (quite rightly) concerned for G's welfare I can confirm that following her trip to the healthcentre on the Monday, she duly rang to tell me that the GP says she has CHICKENPOX. Understandably, G felt she needed to talk over with me how she was feeling following this surprising news and I was provided a sympathetic ear. On doctors advice, she has to be in isolation for at least 7 days, while resting and taking medication. As a result, I've seen a lot less her this week.....| This could have been a much more gruesome picture guys :) |
The rest of my week included a very tough but satisfying track session of the winter on Tuesday. Because I know you're dying to know we did the same as last week 6x300m with a jog recovery (400m, 300, 200, 300, 400m) In trainers and all after at day at uni too!
A far chunk of my Wednesday was spent at Westfield in Stratford , first of all for a belated lunch with some friends who have more drama in their love lives than even Jackie Collins could write about. That was an interesting catch up, indeed! Think handsome philanderers and super PSYCHO ex-boyfriends. In the evening I returned to that Temple to retail (I didn't buy anything the whole time I was there, even though i really wanted to!) for an impromptu trip to cinema to see the new Justin Timberlake film In Time. I went with some friends, 6 of us in total, all of them massive JT fans. Me, the only avid sci fi fan. However, even the best laid improptu plans often go awry, in this case we hadn't booked ahead, the ten past 9 showing was sold out and none of fancied the midnight screening (last trains to catch!). But fear not, the great thing about that MASSIVE warehouse of coat hangers and price tags is that come an evening there's a multitude of alternatives. Ours that night was TGI's food and dessert, in my case COOKIE DOUGH CHEESECAKE :)
The evening became a little more interesting, depending on your saturday night telly preferences, with the arrival of a number of this years X Factor hopefuls at TGI's and then Wagamama's. If the The SCREAMING teenage girls, running about crazily was not enough to alert me to this. Janet Devlin, Craig, Marcus ( he is tiny!) and Frankie Coccozza walking (or in Frankie's case swaggering) right past our table did it. I'm not an fan of the programme but my friendscreamed called out and Janet and Craig gave us a wave and a smile, which was alright I guess seeing as we're complete strangers.
And so this morning I awoke with a slightly groggy head, which I put down to failing to hydrate properly after a fun night of Swing Jive and cocktails. I blame that last Gin and tonic....JESS!
Do nip round again next week, these catch ups are really nice.

3 songs I downloaded while writing this post
1. Like Smoke - Amy Winehouse feat. Nas (A must listen, gave me chills)
2. Lego House - Ed Sheeran
3. Hard White (Remix) - Yelawolf feat T.I. & Slaughterhouse
