T for Thursday and also tangerine

I thought I'd write the update of this Thursday in a more cheerful colour to cover up the miserable day I had today. Before I go on and rant about my miserableness, let's start with something a bit more cheerful to ease you in.

Before I enlighten you with my success earlier this week, be prepared, as it can get a bit geeky and sciencey. But since I believe most of the people reading this will be either a physician or a scientist, it should be nice and easy to understand the frustration I have endured. MY EXPERIMENTS WORKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! After two weeks feeling like a failure because I couldn't get the RT-PCR to work, I have finally identified the problem, the kit I used was sh*t (pardon the language, I'm normally a lot more soft spoken and proper. Not that using the word sh*t makes you improper). I am very happy about this because I have finally identified the problems and my name is not on that list. I spent most of this week after my triumphing success lazying about because my supervisor is not here, so I thought I'd take this opportunity to relax.

On quite a separate note and just plain and utter gabbage, but I must do this as I am currently fuming from my nostrils and my ears. I just had a poster presentation at the med school today about my project. The ones who came and looked at my poster, first thing they said was, "oh, so he's your supervisor." And then gives me a weird look and walked off. The ones who are polite enough to stay decided to discuss how much the med school hates my supervisor and how pointless my research is as they do not believe it will work, even if it did, no one cares.

I apologise for using this blog as a place to relieve my anger and frustration, but I am actually at a point where I am thinking, maybe I shouldn't have came to Bristol after all.
