Hmmmm...

My ever so lovely Wednesday-ers,

Indie Receiving The Christmas Treatment
So the festive period has quietened our rambles...I myself am writing this post out of a misguided sense of duty to a little hing I'm doing called project zero. Basically I've set myself a tonne of tasks to complete in one thousand and one days...I'm pretty far through and still have a fair whack to get through =oS

One of my tasks is to blog for a year so unfortunately for you dear reader I will still be rambling on in this little blog until winter of two thousand and twelve =o)

Not Even All Of Them "Present" =oP

This Christmas has been wonderful, a real calm and quiet festive time. For the most part it has just been me, The Trout and my sister, oh and her two dogs! I remember the years when we were eleven in number on Christmas day, now we are down to a rather pitiful three. I am glad though it was nice to see The Trout actually enjoy herself instead of worrying about all of the rest of us! Despite our numbers the tree was still laden with presents...so much so that we lost the use of about a third of our living room having to leave little trails to chairs and the T.V.

Boxing Day Soup!

Boxing day soup also took place which is the highlight of every Christmas for me. Basically all the left-overs, gravy, stuffing, sauces and all, are placed in a large pot and blended/mashed. The final concoction is then boiled to within an inch of its life before being served with freshly made bread. It is a family tradition which has been observed in the family on my The Trout's side for over five generations! I cannot begin to describe the most wonderful taste and texture to you. We in the Black Country have a saying "that'll stick to your ribs" I'm not sure if it translates to other areas but it basically means it will warm you from the inside and fill you up! Porridge is usually a rib sticker as is most winter food! This soup sticks to all your internal organs filling you with festive warmth...it is quite literally a taste of Christmas for me! Shame it looks like diarrhoea!

Since then little has happened really...there is one thing I wish to tell you about but I must refrain from doing so...at least until next week or the week after! Nothing bad just don't want to jinx anything before it happens. =oP

I must wish you all a wonderful New Year as Wednesday misses that as well...if you enjoy New Years then have a brilliant one...if you don't (like myself) then have a pleasant one at least ;o)

Your ever humble blogger,
LJ Alikay

P.S. The epic post was an epic fail ;o)
