Hi guys!
So I thought I would introduce the blog and give everyone
an idea what’s going on (Plus Jessie didn’t want to be the first to post =oS)
So this little blog is for us friends from uni to keep in
touch with one another and keep up to date with what’s going on in each others’
lives. To add a bit of fun into the mix we thought we’d add a little challenge
(dum dum duuumm) based game into the blog to keep interest and generate
conversation (as if we don't already have enough to talk about :P).
I’ll let everyone introduce themselves to any readers who
pass through and don’t already know us...we're a colourful bunch as you’ll soon
find out! So I’ll go on now to explain the rules of the challenge (dum dum
duuuum) to the happy little bloggers...
There are two types of challenges (dum dum ….ok I'll
stop) that can be set:
1. Word
challenge
2. Caption
challenge.
In both cases the challenge should be set in a light grey
font in order to distinguish the challenge posts from the blog posts.
Word Challenges:
A range of two to three words are set by the challenger,
with no explanation to the challenger’s understanding of the phrase, i.e. the
challengees should reply with their own individual interpretation of the phrase
given.
The responses can be returned in a variety of media with
the following constraints:
1. Videos
must be self contained and not include any text, except for credits given for
other people who are present in the video; which should be included at the end
of the video.
2. Picture
entries may be submitted from single images to a storyboard however only a
single caption per image can be included and should be contained within the image file.
3. Full
text responses are also permitted and no minimum or maximum word count is requested.
Caption Challenges:
The challenger posts an image and requests a caption, no
other text should be included in the challenge. Each challengee should then
post only their caption however, no minimum or maximum limit is included.
All challenges should be set by the challenger after 12.00
(midday) but before 00.00 (midnight) on the challenge day (Saturday). All
responses should be emailed to the challenger directly for judging before 00.00
(midnight) on the following Wednesday. The Challenger then judges which entry
they like best and post the results before 12.00 (midday) on the next challenge
day (Saturday). If time constraints are present on the challenge day then the
challenger is permitted to use scheduled posting.
The results of the previous challenge should contain all
of the entries submitted that week credited to their challengee and only the
name of the winner should be announced. A small passage of text can be included
in order to explain why the winning submission was chosen however this should
be kept short (e.g. Meh and Hem were good but Meh Hem was funniest) and should
not list the order of the other challengees. (Alex: 'I'd like to meet this Meh
Hem')
